Carrillo’s Communication and Creative Arts theme is based upon the Arizona Career and College Ready Standards. Each grade level plans integrated thematic units with an emphasis on reading, writing, speaking and listening, and incorporating visual and performing arts. Most units include a summative assessment that requires students to use technology to show what they have learned during the unit.
Specialists classes consist of: Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Technology. Each students spends one hour per week in each of the specialist classes listed above. Students continually work on grade level units in their homeroom classrooms that collaborate with their specialist classes. |
Performing ArtsMs. Marta Holl gives students an incredible learning experience. Cougars learn to play instruments, sing, dance, and perform on stage.
|
Visual ArtsMs. Elsmarie DeMars brings a vast knowledge that excites student learning. Students create projects through painting, pottery, and other methods.
